UPOU Student Portal is an online gateway where students can access the online registration system (ORS), view their grades, request for documents and update their contact information. It also includes links to the learning management system (MyPortal), library and other online services exclusive for UPOU students.

Reminders to all new students who applied for Transfer of Credits (TOC):

Please wait for the results of your TOC before enrolling in any course to which you applied for TOC, this is to avoid cancellation of enrollment or dropping of the course/s (whichever applies to your case) later. Consult with your program chair if needed.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

ONLINE REGISTRATION SYSTEM
Before proceeding to Online Registration, you must be sure that the courses you intend to enrol in are based on the approved program/plan of study. If you will enrol on courses other than what is included in your approved program of study, you must first seek the approval of your Program Chair.

The following students are eligible to enrol at UPOU and may access the online registration system during the enrollment period:

  • Newly Admitted Students
    • These are new and transfer students who have gone through the admission process and have been officially admitted to UPOU’s programs.
  • Continuing Students
    • UPOU students who have returned from an official Leave of Absence (LOA).
    • Readmitted students, i.e. former UPOU students who have returned from absence without leave (AWOL). An approved application for readmission is necessary to be readmitted to the program.
  • Cross- Enrollee Students
    • Cross-Enrollees are students of other UP units or non-UP units who have been approved to enrol at UPOU. To enrol at UPOU as a cross-enrollee, the student must secure an approved permit to cross-enrol/register form.
  • Non-Degree Students
    • Non-Degree students do not belong in any program of UPOU.

The following online applications are now available in the Student Portal. The student is advised to access his/her account to avail of the online systems.

1. Online Application for Completion (OAC)

WHEN TO APPLY: Application period begins at the start of classes and ends on the deadline for filing of application for completion or removal.

WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY: All currently enrolled students including non-degree and cross-enrollee. However, for cross-enrollee, s/he must be currently enrolled in his/her mother unit.

VALIDITY OF APPLICATION:  The approved application for completion is only valid during the term of application. Failure to comply with the lacking requirement/s or take the removal exam during the applied term would require submission of another application for completion or removal for the next term and schedule.

COMPLETION DURATION:  The student is given a maximum period of one year from the end of the term in which the EXT or grade of 4.0 was incurred to complete all the course requirements; the student does not need to re-enroll in the course during this period. Otherwise, the student has to re-enroll the course if the one-year duration to complete the EXT or remove the grade of 4.0 has lapsed.

2. Online Application for Leave of Absence (LOA)

A student who is granted an official leave of absence will be given a final grade of DRP for the course/s s/he is currently enrolled in, with LOA under the Remarks column. The LOA must not exceed one year from the term of effectivity. A student who is on AWOL is not allowed to apply for LOA, s/he is advised to apply first for readmission.

WHEN TO APPLY:  Application begins after the deadline for the withdrawal of enrollment and ends on the  deadline for filing of application for LOA.

WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY: Students who are: (1) currently enrolled; (2) readmitted; (3) on previous LOA; and (4) enrolled last term/sem. Cross-enrollee, Non-degree and PTC students are not required to file for LOA.

EFFECTIVITY TERM : Maximum of one (1) year or a minimum of one (1) term.

LOA FEE: The student is required to pay the application fee of Php 150.00.

3. Online Application for Dropping

A student may, with the consent of the instructor and the Dean of the Faculty of Study, drop a course before three-fourths (3/4) of the semester/term has elapsed, and not later. The registration privilege of a student who drops a course without the approval of the Dean may be curtailed or entirely withdrawn.

WHEN TO APPLY: Application period begins at the start of classes and ends on the deadline for filing of application for dropping.

However, if the student paid his/her matriculation fee and wishes to withdraw his/her registration shall be entitled to a refund, except entrance and registration fees, under the following schedule:

   o          Withdrawal on or before the start of classes — 100%

   o          Withdrawal after the start of classes ——– 80%

                •  Semester schedule – on or before one month after the start of classes

                •  Trimester schedule – on or before three (3) weeks after the start of classes

 WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY: Currently enrolled students except those who are enrolled in "Residence".

DROPPING FEE: The student is required to pay the application fee of Php 10.00 per unit

ACCESS TO COURSE SITES

It is your responsibility as a student to ascertain that you are given the necessary access to the course site  (MyPortal) for all the courses you enrolled.  The courses you enrolled as displayed in AIMS-Student Portal and Form 5 should match those enlisted courses in your MyPortal page.

 Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (FREE TUITION) 

The UP Open University is implementing RA No. 10931 known as the “Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act of 2017” and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) which was approved and signed on 22 February 2018. UPOU has also started implementing the policies stipulated in the Guidelines to Implement the Grant of Free Tuition and Other School Fees in UP released through OVPAA and OVPPF Joint Memorandum No.5.
